This's and That's About My Life
I am living in Tacoma, Washington and am now finally retired from working as both Research Technologist at University of Washington and Biocare Medical as Technical consultant (Histology) for North West. While working for the Urology Department at the university, I was 1st and 2nd author on several papers dealing with Prostate Cancer and, at that time, I turned my specialty to Histology.
When my husband was stationed in Arizona (till about 1987) during the time I was working in Oregon I kept horses.
One of the best experiences I have had in my life was when I traveled to Haiti, twice for one month at a time as a Histology Consultant to the General Hospital in Port au Prince. I was still working at the time as supervisor of Histology at Madigan Army Medical Center. I saved up all my leave time and went to work for "Project Hope". I learned about the "Good Ship Hope" while I was doing my internship for Medical Technologist at Manhasset General Hospital. This was in 1986 and one month in 1987. All the simple things we have in the USA, they did not have in Haiti.
Now that I am retired, I am still taking care of my roses, and my part of the garden as far as our veggies. Also have been busy making jams, jellies and breads from our harvest. I have a special part of the garden for me, as my husband still plants his garden like he was still living in Kentucky.
It is hard to believe how old we are!!
