Hi Everyone:

I’m so delighted that you remembered and included me in your reunion! I think of my brief time with you fondly and now so frequently as I pour over the yearbook. You guys were great and made my school transition a wonderful memory.

Remember Marie Audevart? She was a “Teacher who made a difference”, as the expression goes. I corresponded with her for years (in French of course). She always returned my letters corrected! After a relatively long period of time with no response, Bob Canosa gave me the sad news. Ms. (?) Clark – Latin – came to class dressed in black for the Ides of March. I have no idea how I ended up in that class, but thanks to derivatives, I can knock off crosswords and get by with Italian and Spanish. Everyone’s favorite was, and still is, Ed Meagher. He became another kind of friend as Richard commuted to Wall Street with his son. They eventually had an account which Richard managed. Ed and Maria gave us our first piece of Lladro. Harry Starbird – great sense of humor. Eileen Bennett – elegant. Bill Pollit – charming. James Zobian – “who thsuck the thsopper in the thistle tube?” Zobian flunked me and Gilly picked me up every morning to attend summer school in Glen Cove. Joe Albertson adorable. Miss Hinchman – Arthur Neitlich’s composition!

Richard, (class ’54) and I will be married 47 years on 9/11 – now an even more indelible marker. 2 sons – Dan, 42 – Adam, 37 – and Jen 40. All Roslyn grads. 3 grandsons, 4, 2 & 1. We’re ready for the “Spin Dr.”!

I was always a devotedly disciplined equestrian, who married the golfer (my handicap got down to 14), tennis, cross-country skiing, etc. Loved it all, but some health issues cancelled out the above. I do love my Bowflex, piano, painting, working with Sylvester Cancer Center, UM/JM in Miami & ADL.

16 years ago we sold our home in Roslyn and moved to Boca Raton. All three kids said “Not without us, you don’t.” My mum lives in Palm Beach. She’s 85 and gorgeous – driving to her opera classes and subscriptions, dinning with what few pals remain. Fiercely independent!! Jan and I definitely have a future!!

Life is good!!

Best to you all,
Jeanne
